Pul Kanjari was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh for Moran, a nautch dancer (Pul - Bridge, Kanjari - nautch dancer) from the nearby village of Makhanpura, who used to perform in his royal court and later got married into his royal household. Initially, the town was occupied by Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus who lived in unison till the Partition. This historic town has been condensed to a small village now. #punjab #storie
